Japanese Notan

This was a project I did in DDN-101. We had to create an image that once cut out from black paper, it could be reflect on white paper.

I brainstormed some ideas of what I wanted the image to be of.

A bookcase with a bookworm.

Coffee date.

Swans.

Treehouse.

Here is the final design I went with. It was an extremely tedious and careful process. I used an Exacto knife to achieve this piece of work. Overall it was worth it and a fun learning experience.
